Day 5: Downtown Exploring

Today was our first teaching day at the school, and it actually went really well :) The previous teachers told me I would want to go home and cry this whole week because it would be really hard, but it turned out great. The kids are soooo cute! And their English is surprisingly good for only being 6, and they are very fast learners. My only regret is that Eli wouldn't have thrown his underwear in my face...but hes so cute that it was hard to get too mad at him.

After school today we planned on going to the One-plus-One supermarket to get a few things, but we met up with some of the guys from Kaiyin and took a bus downtown instead.
The standard chinese peace sign
We went to a really good smoothie place called "A-okay" and I got a kiwi smoothie that was heavenly.
Camille and John and Carmen
James, Nikki, and Holly
We ended up ditching the guys after they went to try and buy an electric bike, hopefully they made it back, because its about a 30-45 minute ride back to the apartments, and truthfully I don't think they don't know how to get back :P

Noah and his fancy shirt
Me, John, and James in some weird little "tea" shop that smelled revolting. The people there were very nice, and just kept taking pictures of us the whole time.
We skyped with Karina's fiance, and he sang for us, (hes a really good opera singer) and he went on his mission to Taiwan, so hes a pro at Chinese too, he taught us a little bit.
